Hennepin Healthcare and Rotary Partner to Provide Virtual Doulas to Black Expectant Mothers

The pandemic has created wide-ranging impacts, particularly on members of the Black community. One effect is in the availability of doulas for Black mothers-to-be, as in-person contact puts both the doula and mother at risk. Doulas are trained professionals who provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
